Overview
The worlds first full scale commercial nuclear station, four Magnox gas cooled reactors opened by Queen Elizabeth II in October 1956, producing both electricity and weapons grade plutonium for the British bomb program. It ran until 2003 and its cooling towers are being dismantled.
