Overview
The sprawling Cumbrian site that began as Windscale plutonium production, then reprocessed fuel in the Magnox and THORP plants, leaving the largest civilian plutonium store and some of the most hazardous facilities in Europe. It is the biggest nuclear decommissioning job in the world.
