Overview
A sodium cooled fast breeder built at Kalkar on the Rhine. It was essentially finished in 1985 but never received an operating permit amid protests that grew after Chernobyl, and the project was abandoned in 1991 without ever producing power. A Dutch investor turned the site into the Wunderland Kalkar amusement park, with a climbing wall on the cooling tower.
