Overview
The continental US proving ground, 1,350 square miles northwest of Las Vegas, hosting 928 announced nuclear tests between 1951 and 1992, more than 800 of them underground. The 390 m wide Sedan crater remains from a 1962 excavation experiment. Now the Nevada National Security Site.
