Overview
Unit 2 suffered a partial meltdown in March 1979 after a stuck valve drained coolant, the most serious US reactor accident, with no offsite injuries but sweeping regulatory change. Unit 1 kept running until 2019 and is now slated for restart as the Crane Clean Energy Center to power data centers.
