Overview
The only nuclear power station in Africa, two French built 900 MW class pressurized water reactors on the Atlantic coast north of Cape Town. Operated by Eskom, it supplies around five percent of South African electricity. In 2024 regulators extended the licence of unit 1 by twenty years.
